Auckland Festival 2011

2 March 2011
20 March 2011

The Auckland Festival is a biennial event. Since the highly successful 2009 festival, the organising team has been busy preparing the ground for an even more exciting and adventurous programme in March 2011. Artistic Director David Malacari continues to meet with some uniquely brilliant and creative artists, representing many cultural perspectives from around the world, to bring you their dedicated practice of art making and performance theatre in 2011.

The Festival has already announced that The Festival Garden, a reinvented Festival hub, will be in operation, designed to make the most of the new-look Aotea Square precinct. The Festival Garden will be a dynamic environment with its own performance spaces – including the Famous Spiegeltent, the Vietnamese Water Puppets’ pond, cafes and bars.

The full 2011 Festival programme – an estimated 40 separate productions involving more than 500 artists, visual arts exhibitions, seminars, workshops and family activities – will be launched in November, 2010 when tickets sales will open.
