This concert is part of the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra’s Breaking New Ground New Music Festival.

A fully international closing concert for the Festival with works by Brett Dean (Australia), Tim Brady (Canada), Steven Stucky (USA) and John Psathas (NZ). The Canadian work which lends it’s title to the Concert as a whole, is scored for solo electric guitar, guitar choir and orchestra and is a tribute to the late Les Paul, inventor of the electric guitar.

And as the Festival brochure puts it: “Closing off this year’s Festival is John Psathas’ show-stopping, adrenaline-filled piano & percussion concerto, View From Olympus, featuring critically acclaimed soloists Jenny Lin (piano) and Aiyun Huang (percussion).”

The concert is preceded by a composer’s discussion (6:30) and performance (7:00).
