Dame Malvina Major sings beloved highlights from the operatic repertoire. Puccini’s heroines, like lovestruck Butterfly or the imperious Tosca, ‘live on art and on love’ and announce it in full voice. Dame Malvina Major has played many of these roles during her distinguished career.

Kiwi composer and conductor Tecwyn Evans is the perfect partner in this repertoire with a long association with opera that began in earnest at the famed Glyndebourne Opera and continues with his most recent appointment to the Graz Opera, one of Europe’s leading companies.

The concert, opening with Anthony Ritchie’s French Overture , concludes with Elgar’s Symphony No. 1.
