- Bang Crash Splash! Percussion Marathon
- 30 May 2009 5:30 PM
This second edition of Bang Crash Splash! Percussion Marathon consists of four consecutive concerts starting at 4:00pm and the closing concert starting at 10:00pm. The second concert in the marathon, New Zealand’s Music features Jeremy Fitzsimons and Pedro Carneiro.
Pedro Carneiro invited a myriad of international renowned marimba players: Kunihiko Komori from Japan, New Zealander Jeremy Fitzsimons, as well as Miquel Bernat and Nuno Aroso – both well-known by the Lisbon audience. Together, they will celebrate marimba and world music, performing original pieces composed for a contemporary instrument, but with a history stretching back millennia.
Bang Crash Splash! Percussion Marathon is a journey through workshops and commented concerts by Pedro Carneiro: solos, duos, trios, quartets, quintets. The marathon’s closing concert will feature the mythic Steve Reich’s Sextet.
