NZSO-SOUNZ Readings
- Awarded: 2009
Award Information
The NZSO-SOUNZ Readings were a collaborative project which aimed to increase the performance of orchestral music by New Zealand composers, which began in November 1998. SOUNZ and the NZSO generally held the Readings twice a year in Wellington. Between 1998 and 2011, more than 70 works by nearly 50 New Zealand composers have been included in the NZSO-SOUNZ Readings project, about a third of which have now received further performances or been released on CD.
This form of the NZSO-SOUNZ Readings was changed in 2011, becoming the NZSO-SOUNZ-RNZC Recordings. You can read more about the ‘new Readings’ and the works that have been recorded under the new agreement between the NZSO, SOUNZ and RNZC here
