Venue Profile

Situated at the corner of St. Stephen’s Ave & Parnell Road in Parnell, a convenient 5 minutes from the CBD, this Auckland landmark provides a wonderful setting for any occasion with its unique position as both church, and a leading civic, community, music, cultural, drama and arts facility.

The design of the cathedral blends traditional gothic with the relaxed feel of the South Pacific meetinghouse, created by the doors along both sides and pillar-less ceiling. The stained glass windows, by NZ artists Shane Cotton and Robert Ellis, create a special atmosphere.

In the normal seating mode, approximately 750 seats are available and this can be extended to 1100 seats for the extended concert mode. Smaller groups can be accommodated by re-arranging seating for amore intimate experience. All seating can be removed for exhibitions.

Some of the unique features include:
• A lift which raises and lowers the stage area
• Presentation equipment including a 6m × 4m front or rear projection screen, and data projector
• 9 ft Kawai Grand piano
• Harrison & Harrison 3-manual pipe organ
