Catena Press was established by composer John Rimmer in 1981 as a means of self-publishing new works for piano, which were then experiencing a surge in interest. Beginning with ‘For the Kokako’, Rimmer published close to forty works under the Catena banner.

Catena Press is currently in remission, with new and existing works by John Rimmer moving over to the SOUNZ Licence system.
