Wellington Chamber Music is an incorporated society dedicated to presenting concerts by the best of New Zealand’s established and emerging chamber musicians.

Established in 1945, the Society presents Sunday Concerts, an annual subscription series of between six and eight concerts in the Ilott Theatre, Wellington Town Hall.

As well as supporting New Zealand musicians through its Sunday Concerts series, Wellington Chamber Music:

• Supports New Zealand composers of chamber music by commissioning new works and programming New Zealand composed works;


• Provides opportunities, with the support of Radio New Zealand Concert, for the recording and broadcast of many of its Sunday Concerts;


• Assists Chamber Music New Zealand with Chamber Music Competition in the Wellington region.
