Profile
The Nevine Quartet, consisting of Janet Armstrong and Liz Patchett – violins, Peter Barber – viola, and Robert Ibell – cello, was established in Wellington in 1995.
All four are playing colleagues in the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra and the Nevine Quartet has performed many times in schools as part of the NZSO’s education programme. The quartet has an extensive repertoire and always includes a New Zealand work in their programmes.
They have given the world premieres of Anthony Ritchie’s String Quartet Nr. 2, and his chamber opera Quartet, first performed as part of the 2004 New Zealand International Festival of the Arts.
