Born: 1965

Biography

Stephan Schulz was born in Berlin, where he spent six years in primary school. He studied recorder from the age of five and violin from the age of ten. In 1978, he emigrated to Wellington and attended Rongotai College (1979-83) and Victoria University of Wellington (1984-91), from which he earned a BA in 1987, BMus in 1989 and MMus in 1991. His composition tutors included David Farquhar, Jack Body and Ross Harris.
